S.M.D.R.S.D. College, Pathankot is the premier most institution of higher learning in district Pathankot established in the year 1953 by Late Chaudhary Kesho Dass Ji, Ex. M.L.A., Pathankot. The institution was established with the sole aim of service to the people of this backward area. The founder President of the college Choudhary Kesho Dass Ji was highly intelligent, industrious and an enlightened person with the farsighted vision and dream. He gave his vision and dream of higher Learning a shape in the form of S.M.D.R.S.D. College, Pathankot- a premier multi faculty post graduate college affiliated to G.N.D.U. Amritsar. It is located on Jalandhar/Jammu Highway in Pathankot which is a converging point of three states viz-a-viz Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu-Kashmir.
Enlightened management of the college gives high priority to faculty development and is doing yeoman’s service for the growth of the institution. Present management is headed by Chowdhary Dr. Rajeshwar Singh Ji who is the Life President of the society. He has reiterated the commitment for the growth of the college by transparent and supportive management. It is because of the positive attitude of the management towards its faculty, that the teaching faculty is highly stable, dedicated and committed. The college has various departments and administrative wings. The college is spread over many acres of land in serene, picturesque, lush green campus in sprawling and pollution free environment.

S.M.D.R.S.D. College Society, Pathankot started S.M.D.R.S.D. College of Education in the year 1998 and the foundation stone was laid down by revered Late Ch. Balwant Singh Ji, who had a vision to start this college for the benefit of the people who could not afford higher education outside the town. The college has proved itself a pioneer institution of its kind as it’s the first institute of the region to start B.Ed and E.T.T courses. This college has the honour to be recognized by NCTE and affiliation with GNDU, Amritsar.
